Then you will love Sport studies. Studying the theory behind sport, you will cover:

“The course prepares you for many different sport related university courses or jobs. Topics from theoretical science work through to sports psychology are covered. The course is a mix of classroom based work and practical coaching experience that takes you into the community. The choice of the Extended Certificate, which is the equivalent of one A Level and the Diploma which is the equivalent of two, really allows pupils to decide if sport is a supplementary qualification to a wider portfolio or a real area of focus for their future. Throughout your two years there will be opportunities to represent the school in a variety of sports.”

“I chose Rainhill Sixth because of the small class sizes. In sport, my teachers had a genuine interest in helping me expand my knowledge in all areas of the subject. Teachers would listen to everything we asked them and gave us the best support they could offer. To help prepare for exams, we would do different tasks in lessons such as a head to head colour to question game. This was great to calm nerves and relax. Sport has helped me to decide what I want to do as a career.”
