Why did they choose Rainhill Sixth?
Smaller classes, friendly environment, great teachers.
The class sizes really benefited my learning as you can connect with a teacher one on one and also the overall environment of sixth form is comfortable and full of nice people.
Small class sizes, relationships with teachers and previous good grades from high school and other students at sixth form.
WHAT DID YOU DO BEYOND SUBJECTS AT RAINHILL SIXTH?
I visited some universities such as Leeds University and got involved in some curricular workshops during form time. I went to Manchester University for German Lectures.
Liverpool Women’s Hospital trip, university trips, Manchester Higher Education exhibition, art workshop with Ian Murphy.
I enjoyed the IBM day and the Navy psychometric test.
New York Trip, Move It, University Fairs, Dance Company, Dance Workshops
I’ve been involved in extracurricular sessions mainly in Art-I’d stay behind most evenings after college to get ahead with my work and develop my portfolio.
HIGHLIGHT AT RAINHILL SIXTH
New York Trip was my favourite.
Gaining confidence in myself and performance skills.
Being sat in the study room and getting the email that I’d got an unconditional offer from my first choice uni. After that I basically did a circuit around to tell my Art teachers and Fashion teacher about it-tears were shed and hugs were had, and it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.
Having a laugh in the Christmas quiz.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE WHAT TO DO AFTER Y13?
The outstanding teaching of my favourite subject to make me want to carry it on further at University.
My sports teachers gave me advice on what I should do after Year 13, as well as our Progression Mentor who told me the benefits of different pathways.
Going to Sixth Form and studying Psychology made me realise I wanted to study it at University.
Media lessons and UCAS convention trip.
