The course is designed to challenge and bolster your understanding around all aspects of digital and film photography. The course includes workshops in both contemporary and traditional practice, giving students the opportunity to learn how to process and develop film photography in a darkroom environment. The course will expose students to key essential photographic elements such as portraiture, landscape, urban environment and abstract photography.
The course is highly technical as it introduces students to in-depth understanding of how to use: professional lighting kits, various camera lenses, ISO and light ranges, focal depth and professional editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Your work will explore the ‘formal elements’ of photography and you will build your own projects based on personal ideas and intentions related to projects.
The course requires a passion for exploring and independence to get out and ‘capture’ the world around you. Students should have high expectations and will be continually pushed to help explore individual creative boundaries. We aim to offer an innovative, relevant and highly challenging course leading to further study or employment in a wide range of creative fields.
