On 8th May 2019, Year 12 parents gathered in the study room for the annual ‘Parents Progression Evening’. This event allows parents to gather information, advice and guidance on how to support their son/daughter in their post-18 choices straight from a variety of local providers.
On the 7th May 2019 Rainhill Sixth Form’s Year 12 students attended the ‘Preparation for HE’ conference, held at Edge Hill University. The annual event signals the start of the summer term’s progression programme for Year 12 laying the foundation for life beyond Rainhill Sixth Form.
Last week saw Rainhill Sixth Form supporting two national events. National Careers Week ran from 4th – 8th March 2019, promoting the importance of careers advice and guidance in schools and colleges and International Women’s Day, on the 8th March 2019, celebrates women’s global achievements and importance.
The week before half term, saw Russell Group establishment, the University of Leeds, take on progression activities for both years at Rainhill Sixth Form. Delivering excellent advice to Year 12 and 13, Leeds University is just one university that Rainhill works closely with.
The brains behind Rainhill High School’s outstanding 2018 A Level and vocational qualification results returned to their sixth form roots recently to celebrate their success. Last year’s Sixth Form Centre students delivered a 9% rise in A*-C grades, making 2018 the fourth year in a row that results have risen.
On the 17th January 2019, 4 Elite students from Rainhill 6th form made the trip down to Cambridge. Visiting Magdalene College, they went traveled for over five hours to find out more about this potential future destination.
