WHAT SUPPORT DO I GET BEFORE YEAR 12 STARTS?
We will support you with your subject choices, future progression routes after Year 13 and Careers advice. You will also receive taster sessions after Year 11 exams and induction days in September. All designed to help you transition to Year 12 successfully.
WHO DO I ASK QUESTIONS TO ABOUT SIXTH FORM?
If you are currently with us you can speak to your teachers, if not you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can pass the question onto the best person to answer it.
CAN I VISIT THE SIXTH FORM?
Yes. We can arrange a tour of Rainhill Sixth if needed. You can use the email above to get in touch. It is best if you can attend the November Open Evening as you can meet all the staff and find out more all in one night.
ARE THE SUBJECTS I CHOOSE WHEN I APPLY THE ONES I END UP STUDYING?
You can change your mind, we understand that you may have a different opinion on what you are best at after GCSE results day. We want you to be able to change if needed.
WHAT IF I DO NOT GET THE ENTRY GRADES FOR COURSES?
There will be other courses that would suit you and we can discuss these with you on GCSE results day.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
We simply expect you to be dressed for a student working environment.
IS THERE ANY SUPPORT FINANCIALLY?
We have a Sixth Form bursary that can be awarded to students. You can contact us to find out if you are eligible. There is also support with the discretional bursary to help ensure students can fully engage with Sixth Form activities where finances may be a barrier.
DO I NEED TO STAY IN SIXTH FORM ALL DAY?
No, providing you are on track in subjects you can study where you choose if you do not have a timetabled lesson.
